Candy Grapes Recipe FAQs

What are candied grapes?

Candied grapes are fresh seedless grapes coated in sweetener and then hardened. There are many ways to coat candy grapes—some are just rolled in sugar, while others are also dipped in a glaze.

How long do candied grapes last?

Candy grapes can last up to 4 days in the fridge or 1 month in the freezer. To absorb moisture, store them in a paper towel-lined, airtight container.

Do you freeze candied grapes?

Yup, and candied grapes taste better frozen! However, you should eat frozen candy grapes immediately because they’ll get sticky after thawing.

Why won’t the coating stick to the grapes?

The grapes must be washed and dried to improve the sugar glaze’s adhesion. If you’re only rolling the grapes in white sugar, soak them in lemon juice first to help the coating stick.

Why are my candied grapes melting?

Candied grapes are prone to melting if exposed to heat and humidity. You also want to coat them well and give them enough time to set.
