Why You’ll Love These Vodka Drink Recipes

  • They are all super easy to make! You don’t need a shaker or a blender to make these simple 3 ingredient vodka drinks, just some ice, some tall glasses, and your ingredients.
  • No exact measuring is required. You’ll want to measure the vodka to be sure that you aren’t under or over-pouring, but the other mixers are just poured in to fill up half of the glass. Bartending is really that easy!
  • You’ll find a recipe here for any occasion. I love these vodka drinks in the summer on a hot day, but they’re also completely suitable for winter, fall, or spring too.

For each of these super simple vodka drink recipes, add ice to a glass, then fill the glass in the order that the ingredients are listed. Give a quick stir and serve!

Ginger Lemonade Vodka Drink

Ginger beer gives this cocktail a bright, spicy kick!

  • 1 ounce vodka
  • ginger beer, to top

Citrus Mint Vodka Drink

Fresh mint goes so well with lemon and vodka. Use a wooden cocktail muddler to get all of the essential oil out of the leaves before adding in the other ingredients.

  • 4 mint leaves, muddled in glass
  • 1 ounce vodka
  • lemon lime soda, to the top of glass

Vodka with OJ and Cran

Another name for this easy cranberry orange vodka cocktail is a Madras, which sounds very fancy and fun!

  • 1/2 glass of orange juice
  • 1 ounce vodka
  • 1/2 glass of cranberry juice

Citrus Berry Vodka Drink

Mash your favorite berries in the bottom of your glass. This drink works with strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, or blueberries. A mix of berries is my favorite though.

  • 1/2 cup mixed berries, mashed in bowl or bottom of cup
  • 1 ounce vodka
  • lemon lime soda, to the top of glass

Insider Pro Tips

  • Don’t forget the ice. If you’re having a party, be sure to plan ahead to have enough ice to make drinks for everyone. Sometimes I put one of the guests in charge of bringing extra ice too – just in case.
  • Have fun! Making vodka drinks is very easy as long as you don’t take anything too seriously. Add an ounce of vodka to a glass with ice and fill the glass with your favorite mixers.
  • Chill the vodka. This isn’t entirely necessary, but it does make your drinks extra cold and delicious.
  • Get Creative! Vodka mixes well with so many things. Try making a Manmosa with orange juice, vodka, and beer, or a sweet and tasty Key Lime Pie Shot.

How to Sweeten Vodka Drinks

What I love about these 3-ingredient easy Vodka Drinks is that they are already sweetened by one of the mixers, so there’s no need for any additional sugar or sweetener.

Of course, if you come across a drink that could use more sweetener, but you don’t want to add sugar, I suggest the addition of my Stevia Simple Syrup. I try to always keep some in on hand to add to drinks that need just a little more.

SIMPLE VODKA DRINKS FAQS

There are seriously so many options here. To me, vodka is one of those universal liquors where just about anything goes. Any soda (if you’re into soda). Any juice. Any sports drink. Really anything goes as a good mixer for vodka.

How much vodka you add to a drink depends on a couple of things. One – how big is your drink? When making a vodka drink for myself, I will generally start with one shot, give it a stir, and then try it out.

If it feels weak, by all means, add another half a shot or a whole one.

If you enjoy soda, Sprite or any lemon-lime soda is a good option as a vodka mixer. Fruit-flavored sodas are perfect for a sweeter taste (orange, grape, cherry, etc). Mixing Coke with vodka works as well, but just know that you’re really not going to be able to taste the vodka (which I’m totally cool with). Most people like to mix Coke with whiskey or rum.

Other Mixer Options for your vodka drinks that aren’t soda:

  • Ginger beer (uh, hello Moscow Mule!)
  • Lemonade
  • Cranberry Juice (vodka cran is one of my favs!)
  • Pineapple Juice
  • Orange Juice
  • Grapefruit Juice (like in my Grapefruit Vodka Cocktail)
  • Fresh lemon juice (it makes a mean Vodka Sidecar!)

What is the best Vodka?

If you go to the liquor store and start looking for vodka, you’ll see that there are a lot of options. You may end up overwhelmed and unsure which bottle to pick.

Let me help! A few of the best vodkas that I go for:

  • Grey Goose – SUPER smooth!
  • Belvedere
  • Absolut (a great budget-buy with a ton of flavor varieties)
  • Skyy

Another one of my favorite mixed vodka drinks is my ever-popular Lightened Up Starburst Cocktail – with the use of whipped cream vodka, it tastes just like my favorite candy… It’s pretty much a Pink Starburst Shot!

Also, I’m pretty sure you and I should be putting a couple more simple vodka drinks on our menus this summer – I’m for sure putting Lisa’s Pink Lemonade Vodka Punch on repeat all summer long. I’m thinking this Grapefruit Salty Dog from The Cookie Rookie needs to join the party as well!
