Measure out 1 cup of whole coffee beans and place them in a food processor or coffee grinder.
Lightly pulse to grind the beans to a medium coarse consistency. Make sure it's not finely ground!
Transfer the coffee bean grounds to the glass jar.
Pour in 4 cups of filtered water over the coffee grounds.
Cover the jar and place it in the fridge to steep for 15 hours.
Strain the coffee grounds through a fine mesh sieve into another jar. If the grounds are smaller, add a coffee filter inside your sieve or use two layers of cheesecloth.
Rinse out your original jar to remove any remaining coffee grounds.
Pour the coffee concentrate back into the clean jar and store it in the fridge until you are ready to serve.
To enjoy, pour coffee concentrate over an ice-filled glass and top with coconut milk.
Notes
Since the coffee grounds will sit with the water for an extended period, you want to make sure the beans are not finely ground for a balanced taste.
Let your cold brew sit in the fridge for at least 15 hours for a super smooth brew. You can start your recipe the night before, so your coffee will be ready the next morning.
Do you prefer a strong shot or a creamy cup of joe? Using more water will mellow out your brew. You can also dilute the coffee concentrate as much as you want with ice and non dairy milk!
