Perfectly Prepared Quinoa

Ingredients

  • 1 cup quinoa
  • 2 cups water

Instructions

  • Rinse quinoa in water briefly to rinse off any natural coatings that may produce a bitter flavor.
  • Combine water and quinoa in a small saucepan over high heat. Bring to a boil.
  • Once boiling, cover and place on very low heat.
  • At this point, as long as you put in a 1:2 ratio of quinoa: water, and the burner is on the lowest heat, leave to sit for 20 minutes. Do not take the lid off until the 20 minutes are up.
  • After 20 minutes, remove from heat, and you can remove the lid. All water should be evaporated. You can now fluff the cooked quinoa with a fork and use in any recipe you'd like.
