Rinse quinoa in water briefly to rinse off any natural coatings that may produce a bitter flavor.
Combine water and quinoa in a small saucepan over high heat. Bring to a boil.
Once boiling, cover and place on very low heat.
At this point, as long as you put in a 1:2 ratio of quinoa: water, and the burner is on the lowest heat, leave to sit for 20 minutes. Do not take the lid off until the 20 minutes are up.
After 20 minutes, remove from heat, and you can remove the lid. All water should be evaporated. You can now fluff the cooked quinoa with a fork and use in any recipe you'd like.
