Equipment

  • JAMIE OLIVER Acacia Wood Cutting Board - Large
  • Now Designs Pinch Bowls (Set of 6), Modern Colors

Ingredients

  • Various vegan cheeses see note below
  • Various nuts pecans, almonds, walnuts, brazil nuts, etc
  • Various fruits grapes, raspberries, dried cranberries, blackberries, pears, orange slices, etc
  • Various crackers and breads small baguette slices, pretzel chips, whole wheat crackers & snacking breads, etc, see note below
  • Dried fruits figs, apple slices, etc
  • Festive garnishes such as rosemary or thyme

Instructions

  • Start by placing little groupings of like foods on a board in small bowls. Diced cheeses. Nuts. Dried fruits. These can all go in small bowls to create boundaries and visual points.
  • Next, place larger items such as a grouping of grapes or sliced pears throughout the board. You'll do the same with the crackers, breads, etc.
  • And now you get to be creative and playful. There's no right or wrong way to create a vegan charcuterie board. Fill in the space. Step back and look at the colors. What's missing? Where is there an imbalance? Fill it up and get ready for your guests to arrive and wow over your creation that they get to eat.

Notes

The only vegan cheese I truly enjoy is an almond-based cheese by the company Lisanatti. It's wonderful and better than any other vegan cheese I've ever eaten. I'd definitely eat it on its own, which is more than I can say about other vegan cheese brands.
Check the labels for crackers and breads - many are not actually vegan.
