Ingredients

  • 1 cup strong black coffee, frozen into ice cubes
  • 6 ounces silken tofu
  • 2 Tablespoons unsweetened cacao powder
  • 2-5 pitted dates (or 1-2 Tablespoons maple syrup)
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • cacao nibs (optional topping)
  • unsweetened plain almond milk (if needed for thinning)

Instructions

  • Place all of the ingredients except for the cacao nibs into a high speed blender and blend until smooth.
  • If the mixture is too thick, add in a little milk until it reaches your desired consistency.
  • Taste for sweetness and add in additional dates or maple syrup if needed. Pour into a tall glass and top with cacao nibs to serve.

Notes

Add ingredients first

One of my best tips for making this frappuccino is to add the ingredients first and the ice last. You'll get a better flavor if the ingredients are added to the blender first.

Make the frappe blend ahead of time

What's so cool about this Vegan recipe is that you can make the frappe blend ahead of time. Make the blend the night before and then place it in the fridge. You can easily whip up this coffee in the morning!
