Chocolate Mint Layered Smoothie

Servings 1 large smoothie, or 2 small smoothies

Ingredients

  • 1 to 1.5 frozen banana
  • 1 to 1.25 cups of milk (I used almond milk – you pick your fav)
  • 1 small handful of fresh mint leaves , stems removed
  • 1-2 handfuls fresh spinach
  • 1/4 teaspoon mint or peppermint extract
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 2 cups ice
  • 2 Tablespoons cocoa powder

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients, except cocoa powder, in a blender. Blend until all combined.
  • Pour half of the mixture into a large glass (not your serving glass)
  • In the remaining mixture that left in the blender, add the cocoa powder and blend until combined.
  • In your serving glass, layer the green smoothie with the chocolate smoothie.

Notes

To create more defined layers, be sure that your smoothie is quite thick and frozen. You can achieve this by adding more ice and making sure your banana is frozen.
