  • Their bodies are one-of-a-kind. Not one body is the same, so there’s no way that one diet will work for everyone – which leads me to believe that diets are all just a bunch of bull shit. Really.

I’m just putting this out there. People get sucked into the promises of diets all the time!  I am going to make sure that doesn’t happen to you. I want you to succeed without the need of a DIET.

Ice cream is one of my absolute favorite things in the world. I can’t just turn that off and pretend that it doesn’t exist. Yet so many diets tell me I can’t eat ice cream. Or that I can only eat it on certain days of the week. Or I can only eat a specific kind.

The diet industry knows I will fail because of this very fact. They also know I will go find yet another diet because I am just that desperate to lose weight.

Secret #2:WHY LOSING WEIGHT IS SO DAMN HARD! Diets claim a specific result that may not be obtainable for your specific body.

No diet can work the same for every single person. We all have different bodies that respond uniquely to different behaviors. Someone who cuts out dairy from their intake may lose a ton of weight, while another person may not have any results at all. There is no one-size-fits-all formula for losing weight.

Secret #3:WHY LOSING WEIGHT IS SO DAMN HARD! Diets are not built to last forever.

Diets tend to work while you’re on them. You may lose weight right away, but the second you stray from the rules of whatever diet you’re on, the weight will go right back on. I don’t know one diet that I could say, “yes, I can do this for the rest of my life.” So it is inevitable that weight will come back on when the diet is finished.

    The word diet is a very ugly word. I don’t feel the need to make the extra pounds go away, I have the want and I think that takes time. Great post.

      I agree – DIET is one of my least favorite words. It’s all about you having the desire within yourself to get healthy. Usually once you’ve prioritized your health, the weight just tends to shed itself.

    I’m on an “English” diet now and it’s not difficult for me at all as it’s well-balanced and I’m not hungry at all.     Great tips!! I’m on a medication that doesn’t let me lose weight, so it’s extra hard. I just try to stay healthy and pray for the day the numbers can go down. :/ Thank you for sharing with us at the #HomeMattersParty

      Thanks for coming by Jamie! I’m so sorry for the struggles you have with weight loss. Medication can definitely make things tricky. Just keep at it and do what you can, trying to incorporate activity and eating real foods.
