4. Take the stairs.
Seriously, I know you hear it all the time, but if you’re not taking the stairs to get to whatever level you need to get to, you’re missing out.
If you have the physical ability to take the stairs, even if it takes a few minutes longer, you’ve just got to do it. Or maybe you’re on the 36th floor of a huge skyscraper and that is just ridiculous. What if you took the elevator to the 32nd floor and walked the rest of the way up the stairs? That sounds a lot more do-able, right?
Take off your heels (or not) and just start walking. And when you have to take a file to Joe on the 39th floor, don’t you dare hit the elevator button. Just start walking. Take every single opportunity to take the stairs.
Hell, in my old office job, I used to always use the bathroom on the floor below me just to get in some extra steps. It all makes a difference.
