1. Get up and walk every hour
Ok, I know I told you that there wouldn’t be time for long walks during the day like we want, but we can manage a little condensed version of that instead, right?
When you’re sitting on your butt all day long, you have got to get up. Even just for a minute. It’ll get your blood flow going. It’ll wake you up from that mid-day slump.
A few things you could do when you’re getting up:
- go to the bathroom
- fill your water bottle
- refresh your coffee
- ask a co-worker a question
- run out to your car to grab something
- or just pay the receptionist a compliment or thank her for a job well done
It doesn’t matter what you’re going to do, the point is that you’re doing something up and out of your chair. Set an alarm for 60 minutes and get up when it goes off. Come back and get ready to work.
This next tip is going to keep you from snacking on all those sugary office treats that are oh-so-tempting.
