One of my absolute favorite things to make to fuel my body in a healthy way is smoothies. I’m always pinning different smoothie ideas to my Smoothie Pin Board, and I was so excited when I came across Todd’s (of Primal Toad) Pumpkin Pie Smoothie from his e-book, Toadally Primal Smoothies. There are seriously over 100 pages of smoothie recipes in this one little e-book!
After a hard workout yesterday, I was starving and just wanted a smoothie to refuel, and I knew exactly which one I was going to try. Todd’s Pumpkin Pie Smoothie. That’s right. I’m officially into the autumn season. I cracked open my first can of pumpkin puree. From this moment on, I can pretty much guarantee that a can of pumpkin will be open at least every 3 days in our house until December first. Once you pop that first one, you really just can’t stop. Oh and this pumpkin pie smoothie… holy YUM!! It truly tastes like pumpkin pie, and was perfect for refueling. Really, it tasted like a dessert!
Start with one healthy recipe a day, like this awesome Pumpkin Pie Smoothie.
Recipe from Toadally Primal Smoothies
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
- 1/2 small banana
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
- 1 Tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1/2 cup light coconut milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup ice
- Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend until completely combined and smooth. Serve immediately.
