I am so excited to be a part of this fantastic e-book sale! As a personal goal, I am always trying to make healthier choices in my life. Whether it’s what I eat, how active I choose to be, or my ability to manage stress. My health and well-being is always near the forefront of my mind.

One of my absolute favorite things to make to fuel my body in a healthy way is smoothies. I’m always pinning different smoothie ideas to my Smoothie Pin Board, and I was so excited when I came across Todd’s (of Primal Toad) Pumpkin Pie Smoothie from his e-book, Toadally Primal Smoothies. There are seriously over 100 pages of smoothie recipes in this one little e-book!

After a hard workout yesterday, I was starving and just wanted a smoothie to refuel, and I knew exactly which one I was going to try. Todd’s Pumpkin Pie Smoothie. That’s right. I’m officially into the autumn season. I cracked open my first can of pumpkin puree. From this moment on, I can pretty much guarantee that a can of pumpkin will be open at least every 3 days in our house until December first. Once you pop that first one, you really just can’t stop. Oh and this pumpkin pie smoothie… holy YUM!! It truly tastes like pumpkin pie, and was perfect for refueling. Really, it tasted like a dessert!

Recipe from Toadally Primal Smoothies

Pumpkin Pie Smoothie
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
  • 1/2 small banana
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1 Tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 cup light coconut milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup ice
  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend until completely combined and smooth. Serve immediately.

      Isn’t it wonderful?! As a vegetarian, I’ll take any source of protein I can get, so when I’m making a smoothie, there’s no reason why I wouldn’t add protein powder. PLUS – it adds a sweetness and a creamy taste to the smoothie.

    Just discovering your recipes, and they are making me happy! No sugar, all natural foods, I can’t wait to try some of these. I have not used protein powder yet. Are they a good natural way to add protein. Anything special to look for? Thanks for these great recipes.

      Thank you so much for coming by Doreen. As far as protein power goes… Yes, it is still processed, but I always look for something with 100% whey as a better option. As a vegetarian, I’m always looking for any additional protein options I can get.
