Stop wasting your money on these overpriced supermarket items. Compared to the amount you’re getting when you buy them with today’s prices, you’re simply wasting your money on them.
Groceries are expensive and it’s gotten worse in the last few years. Some of our favorite products have increased so much in price that they’re no longer worth wasting money on.
Eggs
WANT TO SAVE THIS RECIPE?
In the last few years eggs have skyrocketed. The average price for a 12 pack of eggs is around $5. Depending on the area you live in here, those prices can be even higher. Eggs used to be a cheap way to feed the family, but that’s not the case anymore.
Instead of buying eggs from the supermarket, get them locally from farmers who may be able to give you a better deal.
Velveeta Mac an Cheese
If you’re a fan of mac and cheese, you’ve probably noticed the high price of the Velveeta brand. If you’re feeding a large family and have a tight budget, that name brand box of mac and cheese is something you’re going to want to skip.
To help save you money, go with an off brand or make your own macaroni and cheese at home.
Name Brand Cereal
Name brand cereal has always been sort of expensive, but over the years that price has jumped quite a bit. Most cereal has gone up in price but to save you money, the generic versions are still cheaper and taste just as good.
Steak
With the price of steak, it’s impossible to enjoy if you’re working with a budget. Ribeye for instance, can be around $20 -$25 each, if not more, which is outrageously expensive.
It could cost you up to $100 just to feed a family of 4 and that’s not even counting the side dishes.

Batteries
The supermarket is the worst place to grab a pack of batteries. Shop around and even check online to get batteries instead of buying them from the supermarket.
Chips
Say goodbye to the snack chips. Chips were fairly higher in price than most snacks to begin with but today, they’ve skyrocketed to be nearly $6 a back in some areas. Between the higher prices and shrinking amount you get, they’re just not worth buying anymore.
