I’m sharing how my nutritious snacks are #beyondordinary as part of a Sahale Snacks® sponsored series for Socialstars™
Instead of indulging in all the desserts your sweet tooth is craving, find out what healthier and more nutritious snacks you should have instead so you can stick to your health goals.
I am fairly certain that I have the sweetest sweet tooth in all the land. I swear. Every time after I eat a meal, I feel like it has to be followed up by a round of something sweet.
A scoop of salted caramel peanut butter ice cream? Bring it on!
A piece of coconut cream pie? Sounds fantastic!
Something left over from my son’s Christmas stocking? Oh, you know I want to sneak that shit! (shhh, don’t tell him!)
But then the rational side of me pipes in and reminds me that I have goals. (pesky rationality!) Although I’m totally on board with indulgences every so often, the truth of the matter is that usually my sweet tooth can be completely satisfied with just a little bit of the sweet stuff.
I know what you’re thinking. You don’t want to have a whole pie or a whole pint of ice cream in the house just so you can have one bite after dinner. What’s the point in that? Sounds like more trouble than it’s worth, if you ask me. Chances are, I’d have a hard time stopping if I had a whole coconut cream pie on the counter anyway!
Then what’s the solution?
It’s a little game of trickery. Your sweet tooth will be completely satisfied by substituting in these healthier alternatives. So let’s get right to it.
What Nutritious Snacks to Eat When You’re Totally Craving All the Sweets and Desserts yet don’t want to Stray too Far from Your Goals.
- Deconstructed Almond Joy: A handful of raw almonds, dark chocolate chips, and raw coconut chips
- Deconstructed Snicker’s Bar: A handful of peanuts, dark chocolate chips, and chopped dates
- Chia Seed Pudding – this peanut butter chocolate chia pudding is one of my most popular recipes
- Dessert Smoothie – This one honestly reminds me of a frosty from the drive-thru!
- A Snack Bar – my favorites are Sahale Bars, and right now I’m totally hooked on the Almond Vanilla Latte. Totally decadent!
- Breakfast Cookies – Is there anything better than cookies for breakfast? This recipe makes up a bunch!
- Dried Fruit – apple chips, banana chips, raisins, dried strawberries, dried pineapple. All of these are perfect for snacking and are totally sweet.
Make sure you grab my free printable down below where I include even more healthier snacks and dessert alternatives. You can print it out and hang it right on your refrigerator where you’ll see it when you’re wanting to hang out with Ben & Jerry. It’ll be a great reminder when your sweet tooth won’t stop bugging you.
I have to say that there are a few of these options that are even perfect for when you’re on-the-go and everyone wants to get treats at the bakery and you’re trying to stay on track.
That deconstructed Almond Joy is great in a little container that’ll fit right into your purse.
The dried fruit will do the same. Perfect for munching on while in the car or waiting for your kids to get done with practice.
This is exactly why I love the Sahale Bars (well, besides the fact that they taste like a decadent dessert!). I can just throw it right into my purse or gym bag and it’ll be there when I need it most. They are anything but your ordinary snack bar. The Almond Vanilla Latte is a blend of vanilla, espresso, and almonds drizzled in white chocolate, all layered on top of a creamy cashew butter. Come to mama! If that doesn’t satisfy your sweet tooth, well then I’m not sure what I can do to help you!
Just kidding. There are plenty of options for healthier alternatives to dessert. Make sure you grab my free printable to get them all!
