Motivational Monday: A Little is Better than None

Hey you! It’s Monday… I don’t know about you, but I am not excited for my weekend to be over. I would much rather be reading my book (by the way, I think I’m the last one that got on the Gone Girl train, but I am loving this book!), sipping coffee all day, and just browsing Pinterest. I seriously did not have much time for any of those things this weekend and feel like I totally got jipped! Isn’t that always the case?

Well, since it’s Monday, and since Mondays are generally a little rough to get going, I’m here to give you a little motivation. Last week, Motivational Monday was hijacked for a very good cause, Food Bloggers Against Hunger. Some is better than None // Happy Food Healthy Life

Do you know how many times I have complained for being too slow, too out of shape, or too awkward looking to do a specific workout? I’m a slow runner. I’m always out of breath, it seems. Oh, and don’t even get me started on how much of a clown I look like when I’m at Zumba (there’s proof here…).  But the truth of the matter is that is just an excuse.

Every time you work out, you should be patting yourself on the back. You should be high-fiving yourself every time you start a new workout. You should throw yourself a party. Celebrate with your awesome self for even getting out there. Because guess what!! You are actually making an effort. That is one of the first steps. You are on your way to becoming a healthy being and actually reaching your goals.

Not to play the “I’m better than you” card, but seriously, think about all the people who are being lazy and not exercising on a regular basis. YOU… yes you, the slow runner… YOU are doing more than they are, and I think that is super amazing and a reason to toot your own horn.

So, the next time you are feeling down and out about yourself and your mediocre efforts in your workout routine. You must remind yourself that you are doing so much more than the people who are sitting on the couch at home. You are getting things done. You are improving yourself. You are sweating. You are becoming the best person you know how to be, and that is absolutely saying something if I must say so myself.

So walk into Zumba class with your head held high. Know that you’re going to look like a flailing crazy lady the whole time, and freakin’ own it!

      so so very true. Sometimes I only have time to fit in a 20 minute workout and try to tell myself it’s not worth it. When in all reality it’s a whole lot better than doing nothing at all.
