So often, we reflect on our past. Our habits, our mistakes, our wrong-doings. The problem with that is that we dwell on them. Dwelling on our past puts us in the mindset to think things will happen the same way they did in the past, which prevents us from finding hope and success in our present and future.
I have a challenge for you this week. One that is truly life-changing once you grasp it and actually follow through with it.
I challenge you to only look forward today and for the rest of your week. Forget about your past mistakes. Forget about how many times you messed up. Forget about the things you wish you had done. Because what’s done is done and there’s no way we can go back to change those things. That is life. The only thing we can do is to control our present moment and our future moments.
And this can apply to any part of your life. Whether it’s eating healthy or working out consistently. Or maybe it’s being a better mother and wife. Or maybe it’s just you being nice to yourself.
Forget the failures that you often dwell on. Instead, set a goal and make it happen now and in the future. We aren’t going backwards today. Only forward.
