Give this Back-to-School Survival Kit to the newest teacher in your life to ensure a happy and healthy school year. Maybe it’ll take your kiddo right to the head of the class too!
Can you believe it? School is back in session in just a couple of weeks. And actually, I’ve seen around the interwebz that some of my friends have kids back to school already!! What the?! Didn’t we just start summer? Would you think I was crazy if I told you I didn’t take my kiddo to the pool even once this summer? And we didn’t do even one craft together this summer? Dang, total #momfail, right? I better get on it before school starts for us!
Thankfully, I’ve already set both my kiddo and myself up for success starting on the first day of school, and you’re about to be winning the mom (or dad!) game too. (Also, down below, in the post, I created a ridiculously cute video that I’m 150-billion% proud of and can’t wait for you to see… I maybe cried when I saw it for the first time because I was so proud… so please watch it!!)
Let’s face it. Teachers are super heroes. Seriously.
Any person who willingly will spend their entire day with multiple snotty, bratty, whiny, germy pint-sized children is a miracle in my eyes.
Don’t get me wrong, I love
kids my kid. But there’s a reason why I just had to go back to work when he was 3, and it wasn’t because I needed the money at that point. And yes, now I’m a stay-at-home mom, but I gladly send my kiddo off to school (even though there is usually a little tear in my eye as I wave goodbye and he tells me he’s too big for kisses at the school drop-off). Those tears are quickly swept away as soon as I get home and listen to the sounds of NOTHING! Ahhhh!
Ok, I digress. I was talking about the miracle that teachers are. And the fact is that they deserve as many gifts as I can give them. But I’m sure for them, the first week back to school is just as hard as the first week of summer for us!
I don’t know about you, but I’m sure I’d walk away from the first day of school with a headache, a sore throat, and of course the need of lots and lots of wine and coffee! Which is exactly why I put together this survival kit for my son’s teacher this year.
As soon as the first bell rings for the school year, you know those germs start flying. And the last thing our teachers need is to feel under-the-weather. These are some of the things I put in my survival kit, so you can get a good idea of what to put in yours:
- Ricola® Herb & Throat drops – for the soothing comfort of the effervescent center that’s filled with a combination of herbs meant for healing. After talking the entire day, this will feel so good on any teacher’s throat!
- Vitamin Water Packs (such as Emergen-C) – to boost that immune system!
- Hand sanitizer – because kids suck at remembering to wash their hands and are spreading germs everywhere!
- Headache reliever – kids cause headaches… the end.
- Dark chocolate – a sweet treat full of healthy antioxidants
- Instant latte packs – caffeine. duh.
- Tissue – many uses here. Sneezing from kids’ germs. To lend to the kids who have snot running down their faces. To wipe the tears away after a stressful day.
- Aches & Pains bath salts – to end the day at home with a hot bath. Unfortunately I couldn’t fit a bottle of wine in this jar, but maybe a mini bottle wouldn’t be a bad idea. Don’t tell the school board you heard that from me… just sayin’
I also created a cute printable tag that you can get for free if you just scroll down a bit.
What else can you think to add?
There have been many times over the course of the summer when I’ve needed the soothing relief of Ricola Throat drops. Mostly because I’ve spent entire days answering non-stop questions from a certain 8-year-old boy. That can be taxing on your throat. Thankfully, I have stock piles of these drops because they really do work like magic. I never really thought about what went into a cough drop, but Ricola is made up of a 10-herb blend, which is what differentiates Ricola from other throat drops. And as soon as that effervescent center is released, I immediately feel relief.
Even earlier this week, I felt an infection coming on from some inflammation in my gums, which was causing a sore throat. A couple days of sucking on these life-saving drops, and I felt back to normal!
So I know any teacher would appreciate a couple handfuls of these in their kit.
Make sure you get your free printable so you can dress-up your survival kit to make it more personal and fancy.
