Feel like you can only get a good cardio workout if you’re at the gym or own a big piece of equipment? That is so not true, and I am going to show you how to get an awesome at home workout that’ll get your blood pumping!
There’s this misconception that in order to get an awesome cardio workout, you have to either run on the treadmill or outside, move on the elliptical, or pedal until your legs feel like they’re going to fall off. Of course, you could also go to an aerobic class at the gym. But finding the time for classes can be difficult when you have so many other obligations. Or maybe you’re a mom and just getting out the door without your kiddo hanging off you is a workout in itself.
Well, worry no more. I’m going to show you a super simple workout that will get your heart rate up in just minutes, right in the comfort of your own home!
All you need to do is find a little area in your home, grab some water, get yourself a pair of lightweight dumbbells, and join me right back here and push play!
I hope the video inspired you and helped you to see that you can get your heart-rate up with an at home workout.
Warmup with 3 minutes of jumping jacks, running in place, or jumping jacks
30 high knees
12 squats + shoulder presses
12 shoulder flies
30-60 second break
Repeat from high knees 2 more times for a total of 3 circuits and end with jumping jacks or jump rope.
EQUIPMENT USED IN WORKOUT:
These GOLD’S GYM ADJUSTABLE DUMBBELLS are my absolute favorite and I use them for so many things. In the video you saw that I used them both as a dumbbell and also just with two of the discs for a different workout. Plus they’re perfect if you’re just getting started because you could start with a 5 pound disc and work your way all the way up to 40 pounds if you wanted to without buying another set of weights.
So go ahead and get your order in for the dumbbells today (and throw in a cute exercise outfit while you’re at it to get you motivated) and they’ll be at your front door in just a few days. The price of weights and an outfit is definitely way less than the price of a treadmill … plus is takes up WAY less space!
