Weekend Web Findings + Apple Pie Smoothie

It’s the weekend! Thank goodness, right? I’m a little out of my normal routine this weekend and the upcoming week especially. My son is on the other side of the country for a whole week, enjoying Disneyworld with his Dad, Stepmom, and some friends. For one, I have to say I’m a little (or a lot) jealous. For two, I’m just not exactly sure what to do with myself. The wife and I went to the gym late Friday night, and I may have slept until almost noon yesterday morning! Can you say sleep-deprived?

I do have to say that there is some excitement with being kid-free for the next week. Yes, it will be weird. Yes, I already miss him like crazy and am worrying more than ever about anything and everything that could go wrong while he’s away. But I’m excited to get things done. I’m excited to not really be on a schedule during the evenings. No picking up from school. No morning routine. No homework. No arguing about chores. At the gym every night. Dinner may be at 9pm. Who cares?! It is a very welcome break. Does that make me a bad mama?? I sure hope not! Everyone needs a break, right?

So yesterday morning, I didn’t make my normal yoga session since I slept half the day away, but I was craving something fresh and delicious while browsing my favorite blogs online. For about the last year, I’ve been meaning to make an Apple Pie Smoothie, and I knew that today was the day for that. Boy! I do not know why I’ve waited a whole year to produce this deliciously fresh smoothie.
