Sea Life Birthday Party

Good Morning Monday! Well, is it really a good morning? I honestly can’t believe my weekend’s over and I’m having to head back to work this morning. This weekend went by in a very quick second. Basically, from the minute I got off work on Friday until about 7:30 Sunday night, I was working on getting everything prepped and ready for my son’s 6th birthday party.

I will let the pictures do most of the talking in this post, but I just have to say how fun this party was to put together. Our menu was Peanut Butter and Jellyfish Sammies, Fish Egg Sammies (egg salad), Seashells (potato chips), Seaweed (salad), Fish Bait (fruit kabobs), and Sea Water.

I couldn’t have put this together without my lovely assistant, who stayed up until the wee hours of the night with me the night before the party. I am so lucky to have my honey by my side as my best friend who truly supports me in all I do. And it turns out, she’s also a pretty good sculptor as well! She did a large part of the animals on the cake, which I am so incredibly grateful for. Like I said, I couldn’t have done it alone.

We worked with homemade marshmallow fondant for the cake, and I just love that stuff. Yes, it can get a bit gooey at times. But it’s really easy to make, especially if you have a stand mixer to knead for you. It’s also inexpensive. And it tastes much better than any store-bought fondant I’ve had.

Well, I will let you see for yourself.

All in all, the party was an absolute success. My son had a great time with his cousins. The weather was perfect. Everyone had good food and a good time visiting. I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome.

I will leave you with my favorite little guy from the cake. I wish I could take the credit for him, but this one was done by my talented honey. Isn’t he pretty cute? I think so!

Hope you all have a great week, and now that my computer is back from some repairs, I plan on seeing more of you this week!
