Ok, so I wanna talk to you about going to the movies. Do you enjoy it? Do you go often?

I think I’m pretty much the weirdest person around because I personally do not enjoy going to the movie theater. It’s not my favorite thing in the world. Sure, I like watching movies, but I would much rather watch on my own couch, in my pajamas, with a wine glass in my hand, and preferably while multi-tasking on something else.

I’m horrible about that last one.

I cannot stand watching a movie and JUST watching a movie. I get antsy and feel like I’m wasting my day away.

Oh, and don’t even get me started on movie treats that you buy at the theater! Does anyone actually spend their money on that stuff?

Actually, I take that back. I know for a fact that people do, and it’s crazy. Between movie tickets and all the treats, my sister-in-law spends almost $100 just taking her kids to the movies! I just can’t imagine.

First of all, I’m a cheap-ass and just can’t justify that money being spent.

Secondly, why my movie theater popcorn when you can bring your own popcorn in your huge mom-purse?? Divide it into baggies for your kids, and you’ll be a hero! It’ll taste better. You can make as much as you need. And you’ll feel amazing because you won’t have spent your life savings on a tub of butter-drenched popcorn! Sure, there’s still butter in this recipe, but a little goes a long way, and the spices totally make up for it in flavor.

Or you can just go the route I go. Comfy PJs. Netflix. Homemade Popcorn. Winning.

  1. Hah hah! I”m totally the same way about the movies. I almost NEVER actually GO to a movie, and when we’re watching one at home, I’m also reading, editing photos, or doing something else. It’s too hard to just sit still. 🙂

I’m on a popcorn kick at the moment and I make some almost every night. Love this idea!!!
