Do you know your why?
Why do you care to get healthy? Why do you care about dropping pounds? Why do you care about working out daily?
What is it? What is your reason?
I didn’t used to have a reason. That one little mistake is what has made me quit so many times in the past, and it may be the reason why you’re not seeing the results you want too!
I want you to think back about why you started this health journey. There had to have been a reason. You may have to really think about what it was, but I know it’s in there.
It could’ve been a huge life event like a medical scare. Or maybe it was a number of things that added up for you to finally decide that it was time.
Regardless of what it is, I want you to bring that WHY back into your mind, and then tell me in the comments what it is.
THIS IS MY WHY:
The reason I choose to be healthy is so that I can be the best version of me in this life. For myself, for my wife, for my son, for my friends, for my career, and even for YOU! I know that if I’m not taking care of my health, both mentally and physically, I won’t be able to take care of any of those other things. They will all get the lesser version of me. The one who feels unmotivated, depressed, and all-over blah. The one who doesn’t have enough energy to be a functioning human being. That is the person I become when I’m not taking care of my health. I am not okay with providing that person to all those people and things that I care about in my life. Instead, I’d like the best and healthiest version of me to be the one taking care of my most-cherished people.
So on the days I don’t want to do this health thing anymore (because those days do appear… and often), that why is where I force my mind to go.
That is what gets my ass up. That is what gets me to tie those tennis shoes. That is what gets me to crank up the music so I can get in a killer workout. That is what gets me up at 4am. My why is what drives me.
