How to Get More Fruit In Even If You Don't Like it - What an awesome solution for adding another serving of fruit to your daily intake! www.happyfoodhealthylife.com
I have a confession to make. Fruits are not my favorite thing in the world. Give me a whole platter of veggies, and I’m set. But when it comes to fruit, I could take it or leave it, no problem. I know the majority of people are the opposite and have more problems eating their vegetables, but I am not one of those people. Add it to the ever-growing list of other random oddities about me that makes me ridiculously unique:

* I can’t run comfortably because of knee issues
* I live in Utah and I’m not Mormon
* I only get to see my son every other week due to shared custody
* I have a wife
* I love black licorice
* I have major social anxiety
* I’m a full time blogger who also works outside of the home full time
* I deal with chronic depression
* I hate bananas (unless they are baked or mixed REALLY well in a smoothie. One chunk of banana in my smoothie, and I’ve lost my appetite)

I don’t know – maybe these are all normal-ish things, but these days I feel like they’ve singled me out to be different from everyone else.

So back to the whole fruit thing. I kinda went on a tangent there for a minute. I’m lucky if I can end the day consuming one serving of fruit. That’s far from the recommended 3-5 cups of fruit that I should be getting.

I found out about something that just may save my fruit-lacking-days though! OneBar! This is a perfect on-the-go snack that is perfect for everyone. Moms, busy 9 to 5-ers, kids, and even the random person who doesn’t even like fruit, like me!

OneBar is one of the few items sold in the U.S. containing baobab, which is a powerful super fruit that is packed with more nutrition than any other super fruit. Baobab is one of the few sources of dietary calcium found in plants – perfect for vegans and vegetarians. It has nearly six times the amount of potassium found in bananas, lots of vitamin C and is a great source of fiber and magnesium.

So as you can see, having this super fruit as a part of the OneBar is definitely a good thing. OneBar offers a full serving of fruit in each little package.

And I’ll be honest here (as always!). I’ve had some disgusting nutritional bars over the years. I’m not going to name names here, but there are definitely some sub-par bars on the market these days. So I was a bit skeptical about OneBar. I planned on hating it. But as soon as I took the cherry-flavored OneBar out of the package, I knew this wasn’t just any old bar. This was a fruit-packed, flavor-jammed package of goodness! Think fruit leather marries a granola bar and has a baby. Between the three available flavors: apple, cherry, and mango, I grabbed the apple and gave the cherry to my son.

I knew the kiddo would love it. There was no question there. But the real test was me. And the verdict:

LOVE!

Yes, I actually love a fruit product. Granted, it is in a package and not from the produce section, but c’mon, it’s better than nothing at all, right?

So here’s the deal –

    I would love one of these. I like fruit but only if it’s ripen perfectly. If it’s not, I won’t eat it.
